About St. Margaret's

Last year, St. Margaret's Hospice was able to help over 8,000 people affected by life-limiting illness. The hospice is your local charity committed to providing specialist palliative care, advice and support to patients and their families living in Somerset and parts of neighbouring counties.

Offering a wide range of services, care and support, St. Margaret’s emphasis is placed on minimising symptoms in order to achieve the best possible quality of life and dignity for its patients.

Alongside the specialist care delivered in the two St. Margaret’s Inpatient units in Taunton and Yeovil, St. Margaret’s provides its care right across the county through specialist nurses working in the two local acute hospital trusts and out in the community. This community service last year enabled 1,683 patients to be cared for where they most want to be – at home.

There is no charge for St. Margaret’s help. With funding of just 19% from the NHS, St. Margaret’s fundraising activities are essential to ensuring that the hospice can continue to improve the quality of life of its patients, their families and carers.
